The duels of light and shadow, the kaleidoscopes of colors, the subtleties of natural beauty and the fragile impermanence of human expressions have long defined how I see, feel and understand the world around us.

After learning the fundamentals of photography at the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo in Brazil, I

developed a personal vision of documentary and travel photography through workshops in Paro (Bhutan), Marrakesh (Morocco), Bangkok (Thailand), the Zion Canyon (USA) and Antarctica, as well as at the International Center of Photography in New York City.

Over the years, professional duties and personal quests have taken me to over 100 countries, and I strove to capture a little of their essence with my eyes and lenses. I am also a firm believer in harnessing the power of photography to promote cultural understanding and to raise awareness for social and humanitarian issues.

When not behind a camera, I am a teacher, a jazz lover, an ex-journalist and a career diplomat, currently based in Moscow.
